Day 189 2015: It is a non-teaching time...

Day 189: ...there is so much to do.

I'm supposed to be in that magical time between classes when apparently we can get our writing done. Oh yes, the writing and publishing. But not quite. A rescheduled medical appointment (this time the bottle was intact, the i/v safe) and then a funeral for a member of the extended orchestra family started the day.

Today was also one of the most important days on the sporting calendar, Origin, the decider.

But my main plan was to attend a forum on peace and activism, a prelude to two further days of workshops, meetings and seminars. Yes, another day, another blurring of the lines between my 'work' and my 'life'.

I guess there is a point that to keep the passion in teaching, you really have to believe what you are doing. I picked the hardest nut to crack...finding ways to end war and bring on a perpetual peace (Kant). We're going through a rough patch at the moment.

Still, these people were there to stand tall, to say, it can be done, and so we shall do it.

It is the start of three days, but it has been and will continue to be a professional lifetime. It matters that much.
