Day 132, 12 May 2017: Sometimes it just takes one...

Day 132: ...photo

Like today. Occasionally I get to strip this project back to its origins, the 'pic of the day'; you'll note 'pic' in the singular. Sometimes it is much more challenging to take one photo and have it highlight the day; much easier to run seven or eight of tens I might have taken during a typical day.

But today, really, I couldn't go past just the one pic for the day (OK, there is a follow-up but there is a reason for it...). It is a pic that could tell several stories all on its own.

Good morning, full of hope

I meant, look at it...it was there, on the way to the bus stop.

It's not uncommon here for people to leave things that someone might have dropped, in the expectation they will return to pick it up at some point, as they retrace their steps.

And then, on the way home, having settled on today's story being about just this one pic (and your imagination), I wondered whether it had been retrieved during the day...

Good evening, still waiting

It hadn't. It had moved a few metres, but that was it.

What's your story? I'm wondering about a child missing her little friend. Or not. Or, how did it move those few metres. Or...
